Premier League side Newcastle are back in the race for Lille's star centre-back who is the target for AC Milan: Sven Botman.
The Dutch defender, formerly at Ajax, was understood to have his destiny written at Milanello. However, there is still no agreement with the French club which made The Magpies return to the negotiation table to try and hijack the deal from the Rossoneri's nose.

According to what is reported by The Telegraph, Newcastle United will focus all their energy and powers of persuasion on their bid to recruit Holland international Sven Botman after completing the permanent signing of Matt Targett on Wednesday.
The deal could cost around £30m (around 35 million euros). But, the English club has been trying to convince Lille of paying only half the amount up front while the rest of the money is paid through "staggered installments". AC Milan however, do not give up on the trail leading to Sven Botman as they could move again to make a counter-offer to Lille. However, Newcastle United officials seem confident of being able to complete the deal in their favour and convince Botman to make the switch to the St James’ Park.
