AC Milan director Paolo Maldini has an important relationship with his friend and former coach at Milanello: Carlo Ancelotti. The Italian coach of Real Madrid who is fresh from a league win and more importantly the 14th Champions League had a recent phone call with the Rossoneri club technical area director to talk about one player at Los Blancos in particular, reports Corriere dello Sport.
AC Milan on Marco Asensio?
As per the Italy-based newspaper, the phone call between the two mentioned above was centred about the star of Real Madrid: Marco Asensio. The right-winger is 26 years old and can also play as an attacking midfielder. For Ancelotti's part, it seems that he has given the approval for Milan to go ahead and talk to the player in hopes of finding an agreement on personal terms. However, Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara will have a tough mission because there is a host of European heavyweights on the star: Premier League outfits Manchester United, Arsenal and Serie A side Juventus.
With Asensio's contract expiring in 2023 with Real Madrid, AC Milan bosses Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara do not value him more than 30 or 35 million euros, concludes the report.
