As per today's print edition of La Repubblica, the transfer market targets of Lazio and AC Milan could be linked to each other. There are two defenders being involved in this context: we are talking about the Rossoneri club captain Alessio Romagnoli and Lazio's experienced central defender Francesco Acerbi.
The recent Serie A champion has an expiring contract and is heavily linked with the Biancocelesti, a club which he can see himself donning its shirt. The negotiations between the two parties, however, are still not advancing but there could be a turning point thanks to Acerbi.
The Italian 34-year-old defender is due to leave Claudio Lotito's club as he is seeking a new contract elsewhere. He is appreciated by coach Stefano Pioli and he may be a weclome addition at Milanello. His exit could make room for the entry of Alessio Romagnoli to take his place. It is worthy to note that Acerbi's contract with Lazio is valid until 2025.
