The Napoli public prosecutor is starting an investigation regarding the purchase of 23-year-old Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen by SSC Napoli from French club Lille, an operation which was done in the summer of 2020.
The investigative hypothesis is false accounting, aimed at the president of the club Aurelio de Laurentiis and four other members of the board of directors.
The investigations are still ongoing by the Guardia di Finanza in Castel Volturno, in Rome, Napoli and also in France, at the Lille headquarters.
According to Il Mattino newspaper, Napoli president Aurelio Di Laurentiis is under investigation as well as the top management of the board. The club is assisted by the Neapolitan lawyer Fabio Fulgeri. A few months ago, sports justice had acquitted Napoli with regard to the capital gains case.
