In the last few days, many reports have claimed that Gabbia is wanted by Marco Giampaolo, coach of Sampdoria to reinforce the defence in view of the next season.
According to what is reported by Tuttosport in today's print edition, the negotiation between the two clubs for the exit of Gabbia is stalled for the two following reasons: the likely exit of Alessio Romagnoli and the lack of a new centre-back's arrival, this makes the Rossoneri very hesitant to let go of another central defender.
The second reason is that Gabbia is very important because there must be 4 home-grown players in the squad, and the 22-year-old Italian defender is one of them. The return of Pobega, as well as that of Plizzari, could change the cards on the table but at the moment the transfer of the number 46 to the Sampdoria is on standby
