AC Milan have already experienced bitter situations with the free exits of Gianluigi Donnarumma, Hakan Calhanoglu and Franck Kessié. All have left on a Bosman, the latest is the Ivorian midfielder who is set to join FC Barcelona. Now, the club directors want to focus on keeping Rafael Leao to try and not fall in the same trap once again.
The Portuguese star has a contract which expires in June 2024. According to what is reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport have expressed their will to continue together. However, this does not mean that an agreement is already found easily. First there is a negotiation to be carried out, where each side try to negotiate favourable terms their own way.
The Rossoneri club would like to offer Rafael Leao a contract valid until June 2027 with a release clause (the current one is valued at 150 million euros). But, there is always the tricky and unpleasant situation of the player with Sporting Lisbon as the former Lille star owes 20 million euros.
