Former AC Milan striker, Alberto Gilardino, who is now Genoa Primavera head coach, has granted an interview to the microphones of La Gazzetta dello Sport in occasion of his 40th birthday. Here are his words about his career with the Rossoneri and more:
"Two excellent years with the Rossoneri, but the third was not as good. I left because I have always tried to be at the center of the project. Competition was not a problem, but I needed a team that would enhance my characteristics. And in Fiorentina, I found an extraordinary environment."
Which teammate you found yourself at ease with?
"Morfeo at Parma: he understood me straight away. But then also Kakà, Mutu, Jovetic, Vazquez."
Which coach did you bond with more?
"Difficult to choose. I was lucky enough to have many good coaches: Prandelli, Ancelotti , Lippi, Gasperini, Pioli and Mihajlovic."
Gilardino on his most important goals:
"At Anfield with Fiorentina and at San Siro against Manchester United: Champions League nights."
