AC Milan have to deal with the exit of Franck Kessié who left as a free agent to FC Barcelona on a free transfer. The Ivorian defensive midfielder was very important for coach Stefano Pioli and now, the work and goal at Casa Milan and Milanello, is to improve despite losing a key player.
According to Milannews.it, now the eyes are on Algerian midfielder Ismael Bennacer who must show his qualities and improve even further to make Milan forget about their former number 79.
Coach Stefano Pioli himself has high hopes for the former Arsenal and Empoli player and said the following in his press conference:
"A player to bet on for the new season? It is Bennacer, I bet a lot on him because I know he can really give a lot."
It will not only be Bennacer, though, who will be working hard to fill the voild left by Kessié. Of course, there is also Sandro Tonali who spent a very positive previous season that ended with a Scudetto victory. Then, there is Tommaso Pobega who returned from a loan experience at Italian club Torino who has certainly some interesting characteristics to showcase with the AC Milan shirt. Rade Krunic will be also competing with the rest of his teammates as he always proved to be available and ready to give a helping hand to the squad whenever called upon. Finally, Yacine Adli who joined this summer after finishing his loan spell at Bordeaux, is understood to be an important player but he will play more in the front line than in front of the defence.
As for Tiémoué Bakayoko, after a disappointing previous season, Milannews.it report that the player could leave Milanello, and return to Chelsea, the club that owns his card and he might seek a transfer elsewhere, given that Marseille are interested in him.
