AC Milan's midfielder, Yacine Adli, who was presented to the media in a press conference last Monday, has granted an interview to the microphones of DAZN. Here are his words:
"I watched AC Milan matches, I tried to keep in touch with the team from a distance. I focused a lot on the history of AC Milan to settle in as quickly as possible with life, the tradition of the club and the fans... I looked at a bit of everything to get here well prepared."
On AC Milan's last season:
"The moment that thrilled me the most? Obviously the last game with the Scudetto party. If I could, I would have entered the television to celebrate with them. I was really happy."
On the choice to join Milan:
"It is true that when I signed Milan they were not yet Italian champions, but they were still the great Milan, the greatest Italian team, which had won 7 Champions Leaue and 18 league titles, now 19 . So it was already something incredible. I was happy to hear Maldini and Massara asking me to come here, really something incredible. I immediately felt that I wanted to come and play here."
On the Italian language, Yacine Adli said:
"In the last year, I took Italian lessons, I started with very simple things like colours and parts of the body... as you do when you learn a new language. And little by little things get better, I hope to be able to speak fluent Italian soon."
On coach Stefano Pioli:
"He speaks French well, but I prefer that he speaks Italian to me so I can learn the technical terms more quickly because if he were forced to speak the mother tongue of each player it would be difficult for him (he smiles)."
On his role:
"I played in almost all the roles. In the PSG youth sector, I was a central defender, then as a playmaker as number 8, attacking midfielder. In the national team I played winger both on the right and left wings. Sometimes I played also as number 9. Pioli is a coach who knows how to adapt, in a match he knows how to put the opponent in difficulty and therefore I will adapt without problems to any form. Just give me the Rossoneri shirt and then I'll take care of it."
Yacine Adli on his qualities:
"I really like playing as number 10 or as a playmaker to get the ball rolling and fuel the game. My best quality is to assist and put my teammates in a position to score. This is something I like."
He concluded:
"It is a good thing for the teams to strengthen themselves for Serie A. And then, since Milan are the reigning champions, they want to take back the title, but it will be difficult for them. Last year, there weren't many who thought that Milan could win the championship, but they immediately showed that their level was very high and they showed it especially against the big clubs."
