Girolamo Lacquaniti, spokesperson for the National Association of Police Officers spoke during the radio program "Gli Inoscoltabili" about the incident with Tiémoué Bakayoko. Here are his words:

"The operations room of the Milan Police Headquarters had issued a note with which it signaled that there had been a fight with shooting and an SUV was being sought with a black person on board with a green t-shirt. Exactly the type of car, the type of clothing and the characteristics of the AC Milan player. The intervention procedures that the operators have applied are the standardized ones when intervening on suspicious subjects deemed armed."

On the allegations of discrimination:

"Did the player feel he was a victim of any kind of discrimination? No, he had times, ways and means to raise his voice, but after all he was the first to understand why the police officers did so. So since I work and live in Verona, a city associated with Shakespeare, we can say 'Much ado about nothing'. Although I am not an AC Milan fan, I take this opportunity to congratulate Bakayoko who did not say to the policemen 'you don't know who I am, I'll get you through trouble', he was collaborative, he understood the dynamics of events. If it weren't there, the video, no one would have said anything because there was nothing to say and the Milan player is the first to know. Thanks to him who behaved as a model citizen, showing collaboration, understanding the situation and avoiding any form of controversy."
