After missing out on Renato Sanches who chose to join Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain, the AC Milan club managers have set sights on new profiles in midfield to follow to see who can be signed in the remaining period of the transfer window. One of the players who were mentioned to be of interest to directors Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara is Baptiste Santamaria, 27-year-old French player of Stade Rennais.

According to sources at the reliable French outlet L'Equipe, the chances of a transfer of the Frenchman to the Rossoneri are minimal. The reason behind it is that AC Milan do not have the required funds to invest in a deal to bring Baptiste Santamaria to the San Siro.
