AC Milan, led by head coach Stefano Pioli, took to the field against Atalanta with the following 4-2-3-1 lineup:
Maignan; Calabria, Kalulu, Tomori, Hernández; Tonali, Bennacer; Messias, Díaz, Leão; Rebić
As for Atalanta, Gian Piero Gasperini deployed this following starting lineup:
3-4-2-1: Musso; Tolói, Demiral, Djimsiti; Hateboer, de Roon, Koopmeiners, Mæhle; Malinovskyi, Pašalić; Zapata
The Rossoneri team were not able to get the win against the Bergamo based team as they went down 1-0 in the first half thanks to a goal by Ukranian attacking midfielder Ruslan Malinovskyi in the 29th minute. Milan did not show the best performances as the fans were expecting a way better performance especially from from the Portuguese star left-winger Rafael Leao.
An equaliser was only found in the 68th minute thanks to a brilliant shot by Algerian midfielder Ismael Bennacer after an assist from Alexis Saelemaekers who came on to the pitch a few minutes before that, replacing Junior Messias.
The game, overall, was very physical and difficult for both sides. The Rossoneri did not, unfortunately, manage to bring the three points home. They will have to settle for a draw against a motivated Atalanta side. Now, eyes are on the next Serie A challenge against Bologna next Saturday.
