AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli spoke to Milan TV after the 1-1 draw against Atalanta at the Gewiss stadium earlier tonight. Here are his statements:
"It is very different from the other matches, we went ahead after half an hour and it was the first time that Atalanta looked forward. We were masters, there was a lack of precision in the last portion of the field. But I am satisfied with the performance, the rhythm and the compactness. We are Milan, we cannot be satisfied with the result, but I am satisfied with the performance."
On the changes:
"We have certain characteristics to play even with two forwards... Those who entered did well, they will grow. The calendar will be very tight and demanding."
On Milan's domination in terms of numbers and statistics in the match:
"I agree on the two points lost."
On the goal conceded, Pioli said:
"It is true, but it is not that we can prevent our opponents from never making a cross. The mistake was to stay too many in the air, a couple of our players could have read Malinovskyi's movement better. We were also unlucky, without Pierre's detour I think Mike would have saved it."
On the offensive set pieces:
"Now on this story here we need to be more objective: Kalulu had a sensational header. We often face teams with more inches than us, we have other characteristics."
