AC Milan head coach, Stefano Pioli, has spoken to the microphones of Sky Sport Italia. Here are his words about the 1-1 draw against RB Salzburg:
"It is a good resul twith a sufficient performance, but not of a high level. They started better, then we recovered. We could have done better, but it was a close match. We wanted the victory, but the result is positive. We could have done better in the build-up."
Pioli added:
"The boys know how to recognize when they are good on the pitch. We struggled on the second balls and the opponents restarted attacks with great speed. We tried it too, but it was not the best evening from a technical point of view. Today, we lacked speed in the construction, they weren't aggressive. Surely, we needed a more compact and less distant position on the pitch that would have allowed us to win. The result in Zagreb surprised me, but this teaches us that in football there are no easy fixtures. Salzburg are also a good team."
Pioli highlighted some players of Milan:
"Pobega, Dest and Origi have entered well. Dest has recently arrived but has good qualities, especially in the pushing phase. Origi has had a difficult summer and needs to find the rhythm, but he has quality and he is a strong player. Pobega, on the other hand, has put in his characteristics, physicality, insertions and qualities."
