Tuttosport newspaper has published today an interview with former AC Milan midfielder Demetrio Albertini. Here are the Rossoneri legend's words:

"Why are Milan not recognised as Scudetto favourites? This happens because normally the favourites of the championship at the beginning of the season are those who add up the history of the individual players, especially those who come from other leagues. But… Then we take the field with eleven players, we start from zero to zero and whoever deserves it wins. Milan deserved it a year ago."

On Milan in Champions League:

"AC Milan's debut in the Champions League was positive. Last year's experience helped. But in Europe, compared to Italy, the international experience changes. And the international experience is the speed of reaction with three teams you do not know, in a faster game which is not in Italy."

On Rafael Leao's level:

"The only thing that should surprise me, and I would like it to surprise me, is the continuity of performance because he does not lack quality. Then he would become a great champion."

Can Rafael Leao become a Milan legend? Albertini said:

"He could become one but we have to be honest: today there are much richer leagues than Serie A. I hope Milan can keep him as long as possible but we also know that it is a real possibility that he can go away."

On Sandro Tonali:

"It bothers me that we often judge a young boy, who comes from Brescia who was fighting not to be relegated, and that he is not given the time to demonstrate his qualities even with some mistakes. I believe that Sandro is the proof that our young talents are there and that they can play in great teams", concluded Albertini.
