AC Milan's star striker Olivier Giroud has been an important part of Pioli's system, not only last season, but during this new campaign too. With the absence of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Ante Rebic and Divock Origi, the Frenchman had to work overtime and he still showed his qualities and helped his team by scoring goals (and even provided one assist in the derby against Inter).
According to what is reported by the daily Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport in today's print edition, Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara appreciate greatly the work of the former Chelsea and Arsenal forward. The club directors want to reward him with a new deal.
AC Milan want to renew the contract of Olivier Giroud until June 2024. His current deal expires in June 2023. So far this season, between Champions League and Serie A, he scored 5 goals and made 1 assist in 9 games.
