Rafael Leao's legal dispute with Portuguese club Sporting is still ongoing and solving it could be key to unlocking the renewal with the Rossoneri. The player's contract with the Italian champions expires in June 2024. Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara are working with the rest of the management to find a solution to fix this situation.
According to what is reported by Portuguese outlet A Bola, the Italian club management has sat down with Sporting Lisbon's board directors in an attempt to find a solution for Leao's issue with them.
As per the source, the attempts of the AC Milan club managers were not successful unfortunately. Frederico Varandas who is the president of the Portuguese club insists that Rafael Leao pays the required fee of 19 million euros to settle the dispute.
