Olivier Giroud returns to London, but this time, he has the AC Milan shirt on as he prepares for a tough game against his former club Chelsea in the Champions League at the Stamford Bridge. The player spoke to the media in a press conference tonight. Here are his statements:

"I was lucky to return to Montpellier with Arsenal, today I am very happy to be back at Stamford Bridge. After the Scudetto, we now want to do well in the Champions League with humility and great confidence in our football and our qualities."

Did you talk to your teammates about what to expect from Chelsea?

"I told them that I am very proud to come here with the great Milan and play the Champions League. The atmosphere will be like a great Champions League match. They played great matches. I think we are ready. The wonderful pitch, it will be a good match."

Will it be one of the best moments in your career? Giroud answered:

"Yes. The World Cup was a crazy emotion, but the party with the fans in Milan too. I am a competitive one, and the team is too. We want to do well in this Champions League. I want to always win, these trophies have given me great pride. I want even more with Milan, we want to do well in the Champions League."

Giroud on the Chelsea fans and the team:

"I hope they will welcome me well, I have been good for years there. I have left well with the club. As for the team, I know the boys. They changed coaches so I don't know exactly how they will play. If Tuchel had still been there, maybe I could have helped a little more. They are in a new project and therefore it is a matter of time to get back to their best level. I'm sure they will have a good season in the Premier League."

On the comparisons with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang:

"I don't want to know who is the strongest, I just want to win with Milan. It is true that we both played with Arsenal and Chelsea, but it is the only similarity between us. He is strong, I know him well . But if we win tomorrow it will not depend on a single player. We win with the whole team."

Pioli: “I ask the team to play with our qualities and to give their best”
