Stefano Pioli has commented to the microphones of DAZN after the victory against Juventus which was 2-0 thanks to goals of Fikayo Tomori and Brahim Diaz. Here are his statements:
"Tomori? He has an incredible spirit and passion. See how he rejoices even when he scores. He is great."
On the game:
"It was a game with great intensity. In the first 20 minutes, we missed a few too many passes and therefore we gave Juventus some restarts. The chases and sacrifices are part of the games. Leao must take the last step in the non-possession phase. The return he made in the second half means that he was in the game."
Pioli on the group:
"We were a team. In London, we have disunited, we have made too many mistakes. Today we were more of a team, we have to do this in all races."
On the choices for the starting lineup:
"Diaz had already played on the right. I wanted some substance and physicality in between and more one-on-one on the outside with Diaz and Leao. It worked, we held the field well."
On Charles De Ketelaere:
"In this moment of lack of players on the right, Charles can do it on the right, today he entered well. But for me on the right the qualities of him are not exalted. Diaz can do it better on the right winger, while De Ketelaere in my opinion does better on the pitch."
Pioli on pressing:
"In the first half, the two teams played with great intensity and therefore we are making more mistakes. In London we have made too many mistakes. Today, we put a lot of energy, congratulations to the guys who deserved this victory."
On Brahim Diaz:
"He's a great player. Like everyone he always wants to play, he must be good at taking advantage of every opportunity as he is doing. I know that he is not very happy with my choices, but he has always been very helpful."
