In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, former AC Milan midfielder, Demetrio Albertini, spoke about the importance of Rafael Leao:
"For Leao, a fundamental rule applies on the market: you can make a mistake in buying, but you cannot make a mistake in selling. AC Milan were able to replace Donnarumma, a world-class number one, with Maignan who proved to be extraordinary, but right now it's hard to find a footballer around with Leao's skills. He, Tonali and De Ketelaere are the future of the team."
Albertini added:
"I would be astonished if they (Milan) do not pass the group stage in Champions League. They can and must go on, it is essential to restart with a victory against Dinamo Zagreb."
