Former legendary head coach of AC Milan, Arrigo Sacchi, has spoken to La Gazzetta dello Sport about the Rossoneri's latest game at the San Siro against Chelsea in the Champions League. Here are his comments:
"The referee was severe. But, Tomori also made a mistake. I look at the technical aspects. Milan are strong, very strong, when they are a collective. The difference was noticed with Chelsea, especially in the first leg."
He explains why he is not convinced by AC Milan's defensive attitude:
"I am convinced that Pioli would not redo certain moves: Tomori is not a left-back, Theo Hernandez did not understand what he was doing and Gabbia was too alone . And let's not forget that he struggled a lot even in the first match of the group in Salzburg."
Sacchi added:
"In the Champions League, for now, this is not enough. I expect more, they have already proved it. You can't play one-on-one with Chelsea forwards, defenders get into trouble if they don't have help. I believe that Pioli, a very competent technician, has noticed what needs to be fixed. Two victories in the next two matches are within reach for Milan. However, let's be cautious with the away game in Zagreb, it will be hell."
