Il Corriere della Sera in today's print edition discussed the situation of AC Milan management with their star winger in the team: Rafael Leao. The Portuguese player whose contract expires in June 2024 has contributed so far this season with 7 assists and 4 goals in 12 games.
As per the newspaper, AC Milan directors Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara want to conclude the renewal matter before the World Cup break despite the several difficulties and details. The former Lille player is not easy to deal with because he has 3 representatives at once: his father, agent Jorge Mendes and a French lawyer.
Besides that, one of the main obstacles which prevent Milan from unlocking the deal is the player's legal dispute with Sporting Lisbon who are owed an important financial compensation. AC Milan, for their part, could choose to help Leao with the payment in order to facilitate things.
Jorge Mendes, the player's agent, is insisting on a net salary of 7 million euros. He has made it clear that not receiving an offer equal to that number means that Leao would be leaving elsewhere.
