AC Milan's trip to Verona, and the victory at the Bentegodi is now in the past as the head coach Stefano Pioli focuses on recovering energy and preparing for the Monza game. The Italian champions did not play a very good game, obviously, but it was important to get the three points home despite suffering a lot, especially defensively.
Sandro Tonali is the player who scored the winner and there have been a lot of praises coming from pundits and media. Massimo Ambrosini, former AC Milan midfielder, at the Saturday night Square awarded the former Brescia talent his personal 'Italian Ballon d'Or award.' Here are his words:
"In third place, I place Verratti, in second, I place Jack Raspadori. Tonali, for what he did last year, for what he is doing, for the type of player he has become, for what he represents, we put him in first place."
Ambrosini concluded:
"Even within the hardships he has proven himself worth it. He earned it all with sweat and fatigue. Now it comes naturally to him to be who he is and to do it continuously."
