It is not just Rafael Leao who is on the renewal agenda for the AC Milan directors Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara. In fact, Ismael Bennacer, the Algerian midfielder, is also an important part of Stefano Pioli's plans. The former Arsenal and Empoli man has a contract until June 2024, just like his Portuguese teammate.

According to what is reported by Calciomercato.com, there are no doubts for Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara: Bennacer must remain in the club for a long time, well beyond the expiry date in his current contract in 2024. That is why the renewal talks have actually begun with the player's entourage since last January.
The 24-year-old midfielder seemed convinced to agree to a proposal worth 3 million euros net per season compared to the current 1.7 he earns. However, later, his agent started checking to see if there were any opportunities available for his client in foreign markets. In that sense, many big European clubs appreciate the profile of Ismael Bennacer. But, there is no offer presented so far.
AC Milan remain confident that they can renew the contract of the Rossonero number 4. The economic terms that were initially agreed will remain the same as the management believe that the figures align with the value of the player. Another important factor that can influence the talks a lot is the agent's commission. AC Milan will try to convince their star anyway and unlock this deal.
