Malick Thiaw, who was very crucial in the win against Hellas Verona thanks to his two defensive interventions to save the team from two goals, spoke to Milan TV about that experience:
"Everything was very fast. So, it was not much time to think, you just had to be there. It was a very proud moment for me and for my family, due to the hard work I did. It was a very nice moment and I enjoyed it very much."
He added:
"In these situations, you have to think about how you can help your team to win this game and that is what I was thinking about."
Thiaw on his journey with AC Milan so far:
"Everyday I learn something new about this big club. The fans are amazing. This is a very big club not only in Italy but also around the world. It's different than in Germany as you get recognised on the streets more. I am very happy to be here."
On the Serie A:
"The Serie A is different than the Bundesliga. Both leagues are very high-level. But in Italy, it is more tactical: the players are more tactical and we work on that aspect more. It's still fast. When I was looking at Serie A back when I was in the Bundesliga, it seemed to me slower than the Bundesliga, but it's not like that, I think it's a bit faster. There are a lot more tactics and it's faster, these are the differences I noticed compared to the Bundesliga."
On the San Siro:
"To play in the San Siro is a target for me and I hope to play soon. It's what I am trying to do, show the coach in training everyday so the mister can give me a chance, and so that he can count on me. He (Pioli) gives me a lot of advice and I'm very happy with him."
Thiaw concluded:
"In Italy, there are no easy games. I think Monza will try to do their best because if you play against AC Milan, then you have an extra motivation. But, I think we are well-prepared. We will do our best to give the fans a good show to win this game."
