According to what is reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport in their website, the AS Roma management are still not able to find the agreement to renew the contract of Italian playmaker and right-winger Nicolo Zaniolo who is 23 years old. His contract expires in June 2024. He currently earns 2.2 million euros and his demand is to receive 4 million euros net as a fixed part.
The number that Zaniolo and his entourage are asking for is a very important figure, one that is not easy to come by. For the Giallorossi, they also take consideration of the player's worth. If he signs the renewal, then he can be worth the fee around 70 to 80 million euros which AS Roma were asking for in the last summer's transfer market window. The presence of a release clause, perhaps in triple figures, should not be excluded, to make it clear that the number 22 is the main diamond of the Giallorossi club. Then that should not necessarily be the price at which to sell the player's card.
The renewal remains always a difficult issue now despite meetings and several calls between the club director Tiago Pinto and Zaniolo's agent Claudio Vigorelli. Without extending the current contract, important big European clubs would be interested in signing the talented player either next summer when his price can drop to 30 or 40 million euros or in the summer of 2024 when he would be available as a free agent.
In this sense, AC Milan, Juventus and Premier League club Tottenham are among the clubs who would like to attempt to sign Zaniolo.
