Former AC Milan player Dario Simic, who is currently a scout for the Italian champions, has spoken to Milan TV. He started by talking about the Champions League draw:
"This year, the draw was really beautiful for me because my team plays, Milan, against the team I started playing for (Dinamo Zagreb) and against RB Salzburg where my son plays (Roko Simic). It's strange, especially for me. A very strong group with Chelsea. The Champions League is always the best competition for a footballer, when you hear music as a child it means a lot. I played in the Champions League with Dinamo, I was lucky enough to make the group stage, and then I continued to play there after joining Milan. I was lucky enough to win it right away, in the first year."
On Dinamo Zagreb's team:
"Dinamo always play well in Europe, even if this year they don't have a strong team like they did two years ago. Milan can still expect a tough opponent, with players used to playing in Europe. It won't be easy, Milan will have to be good to win this match."
Dario Simic on his son Roko Simic, who plays as a striker for RB Salzburg:
"He supports Milan but plays in Salzburg and this is his team. As a child he always cheered Milan, when he saw that he would play against us, it was really exciting."
On Paolo Maldini:
"Paolo is first of all a great person and a great captain. He gave me the opportunity to work for Milan as a scout, to watch many matches and to see if there are new talents. I accepted, I liked the project and all the enthusiasm and love he has for this club, as I have too."
On his work as a scout for AC Milan, Dario Simic said:
"At the beginning of this journey, few would have expected Milan to do things so well. The club made a masterpiece with a a very clear project and a lot of love for the team. I think that all the players who arrived at Milan have improved, this is a sign that we are working well and that we are on track to be able to do something in Europe too."
