Spezia's coach, Luca Gotti, spoke to the media in a press conference. He presented the next game for his side at the San Siro against AC Milan. Here are his words:
"I'm not ready to review the mentality of the team, but I'm sorry. I haven't absorbed the final match against Fiorentina yet (2-1 loss), but I keep the desire that lasted the whole game: the spirit and that way of wanting to face it and we need to have a better reading of the moments."
Who have more to lose, Spezia or Milan?
"I can't see games in general as someone who has something to lose. Every match is an opportunity, we know the degree of difficulty of Serie A matches, where nothing is taken for granted. We know how strong Milan are, the Scudetto patch they have on their shirt is a testament to that."
On 22-year-old Swedish right-back Emil Holm, Gotti said:
"Holm missed a couple of days of training for that little problem he had against Fiorentina. But, he has been training with the team for the last two days. Verde continues with his path, to try to find the best condition for Serie A matches."
On Slovakian centre-forward David Strelec who is 21 years of age:
"He came in and had an impact, he got a good chance where Terracciano made a nice save (vs Fiorentina). He has qualities, my task is to give him continuity."
On the game against AC Milan:
"I strongly hope that there is great room for improvement... There are concepts, but we cannot say what the system is, how they attack and how they defend. And this is the direction of European football, where tactics change."
On Serie A, Gotti had this to declare:
"Serie A is also changing, the physical characteristics of the players are changing, with more intensity. Against Fiorentina, we also did not have a game system, but there are the principles with which you prepare the game. From that point of view, I say that we have necessarily improved but we have a path that must say to put the next row of bricks once the first has settled. There are many margins for improvement."
On 31-year-old Moroccan central midfielder Mehdi Bourabia and 33-year-old Swedish midfielder Albin Ekdal:
"I think they are a solid pair who are giving something. Bourabia from the beginning, Ekdal has been making a decisive contribution in the last period, and when their condition improves I will try to use them as much as possible."
