Daniel Maldini, AC Milan's loanee who is at Spezia, spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport's weekly magazine SportWeek. Here are his words in view of his return to face his former club at the San Siro:
"Pioli helped me to stay calm, he was always available, he explained to me how to move on the pitch. Last year, at some point, some of us started talking about the Scudetto, the others said 'no, no', but we could see that in our hearts we all believed in it."
He added:
"That was a great group. You don't win the Scudetto if you don't create a united group. It feels really good in the midst of my former teammates."
Daniel Maldini on his friends at Milan:
"I often see myself with Leao and Saelemaekers. Rafa makes me laugh because he doesn't think about anything. Zero, zero, zero. It's nice. At first I took him and Alexis around Milan to introduce him to the city, places to go, my friends, then Saelemaekers went out alone with them. Leao? I was expecting Rafa's explosion. He sprinted forward when he realised he was so strong."
