AC Milan's director, Paolo Maldini, was awarded the best European director award at the Golden Boy 2022 ceremony. Upon receiving this award, he said the following words to the various media outlets present at the event:
"Being here with Costacurta is nice. He is two years older than me. From spring onwards we have had a similar course, beautiful, exciting from a football and other point of view. Now we have two different roles in football, but it's nice to meet here."

"It was written... My idea was to win maybe more easily, not at the last minute. I followed Galliani's advice before Milan-Monza: don't move a bit, not to move during the game and having no emotions; I did the same thing. My father could only be overjoyed."
How important has your career been in the growth of AC Milan's youngsters? Paolo Maldini replied with the following:
"I remember very well who followed me and the words that were said to me in difficult moments; now we forget to do it: we give these guys a lot of responsibility. We need to support them more: the work we do with Ricky and before with Boban goes precisely in this direction: having a very young team."
