Liverpool's attacking midfielder, Harvey Elliott, granted an interview to his club's official channel ahead of today's Dubai Super Cup match against AC Milan:
"It's an important match for us. I think it's the last one before the one against City, so the players will need to take advantage of it. And maybe even the coaching staff, I don't know, to try solutions or stick to the things that we know and have us apply them to the best of our ability. It's an opportunity for us players to put minutes in our legs, we all want to do that. It's nice to play against another top team like Milan, who have won so much: they will be a difficult opponent for us. Hopefully, it can put us on the right track ahead of the match against City."
On facing former teammate Divock Origi:
"I can't wait. What a man! I've talked to him a few times since he left us. I'm just happy for him, like everyone here at Liverpool. It will be nice to see him. It will always be nice to visit him in the future. Friday is a good opportunity to do it. He is a beautiful person and here, he is loved by everyone in every way. It is one of a kind. And what a player. We are all very happy for him. He is a great footballer and we wish him the best."
Harvey Elliott added:
"I'm sure you've heard stories about him and he's a guy who, no matter how you're feeling, always manages to make you smile. He is a legend of the game and he is a Liverpool legend. He won many games for us, scoring fundamental goals. He was a great help to join the group, he has always been there for me and has always been open to talk to me when I needed it, it is the same now. The last thing he said to me was: 'If you need anything, here's my number, call me'. It's always nice to know that you have people you can talk to if you need, to have this support from players like him."
