Gerry Cardinale wants to take AC Milan to new heights off the pitch in Europe but also abroad. As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper, Milan is also built in the United States. Chief Executive Officer Giorgio Furlani, appointed three months ago, is in New York these days, where he met Gerry Cardinale, founder and point of reference for the RedBird fund.
The two meet in order to talk about the club, considering that Cardinale's commitments and everyday life keep him away from Milan. It is not difficult to imagine the topics on the table, in a working relationship to be built: Furlani, Elliott's portfolio manager for twelve years, has never worked with Cardinale. Then the stadium, a theme very dear to Cardinale, club management and new projects, with the opening of an office in Dubai announced in December. And, of course, the team's performance, with the market - at the moment no major investments are expected - which in January is a variable to consider. Furlani, barring unforeseen events, he will be in Italy shortly and on Saturday he will fly to Puglia for Lecce-Milan.
Next week he will be in Saudi Arabia for the Super Cup. For Cardinale, on the other hand, no Riad. The most probable hypothesis, at the moment, is that he will return to follow the team at the stadium on February 14th: Tottenham will arrive at the San Siro for the round of 16 of the Champions League.
