AC Milan's star striker, Olivier Giroud, spoke to Sky Sport Italia after the loss against Sassuolo which was 5-2 result at the San Siro. Here are his statements:
"If Roma took away our qualities? That draw hurt us. We kept running until the 87th minute. We wanted to have a reaction, we didn't, right now I have the feeling that when things don't go the right way it's difficult but we have to stick together and work together."
Is there a mental block?
"We all try to do our best with a great desire to make the fans proud, today they supported us until the end, even after the final whistle. I am very disappointed as are my teammates. We concede too many goals, it's difficult to win a match when you concede 3-4-5 goals. We need to improve our game and look forward."
Giroud continued:
"As I said, we have to stick together. It's a very difficult period, we have the support of the fans. We must all get back up together and do more. When the opposing team attacks we are always in trouble and they score immediately, then we have to chase the result. Now is not the time to be too down, but we need to have a reaction and continue to work very well in training."
