Rafael Leao's lawyer, Ted Dimvula, spoke to Sky Sport Italia about the contractual situation and said:
"There is a lot of misinformation about Rafael Leao, mainly in the Italian press. This has only one purpose: to paralyze the cordial and professional dialogue that we have with the Milan management regarding the extension of Rafael's contract. We are currently working together to find a solution that is satisfactory for all parties. The player's priority has not changed: he wants to stay at Milan and continue to grow and progress in this club and in this city that he loves so much. We therefore firmly deny any wishes on Rafael's part and/or his entourage to lower his release clause to facilitate a player departure next summer. Rafael is fully focused on the important goal ahead with his current club, and hopes,in this difficult period, to be able to let him work with calm and serenity to win again."
