AC Milan's left-winger, Rafael Leao, granted an interesting interview to 'Noisey' outlet as he disccuses different aspects in his life including his first steps in the football career:
"When I was little, my dad tried to find me a team: I started playing when I was 7. Where I lived there was a garden where I played with some boys and one of our neighbors who worked for a team in the town, told me to go and play with him: the club is called Amora FC. Then I signed with Benfica, but I didn't have the possibility to go to Lisbon to train. Although they told me and my dad to be calm because they would help me with the transportation, they never showed up. After school, I waited for them outside the house: no one ever showed up."
Leao added:
"After a week, my father sent an envelope to Benfica to terminate the contract. Then I went to Sporting. People close to me told me I could go far. I liked football in the youth team, but in my head I had no idea what I could do. After a meeting in which Sporting kicked me out, telling me that perhaps it would have been better to look for another club, I settled down and started working."
What do your friends and teammates think of your music?
"Before they laughed a little, they put my songs in the locker room to make fun of me and I always said to take them off. The most thrilled by the project was Daniel Maldini, together with Saelemaekers. The one who doesn't understand my music? Ibra."
What are your goals in football?
"In football, I want to win the Champions League. I want to win a lot, I want to be important for the clubs where I play and win trophies, both individually and collectively."
