AC Milan's legendary captain and honorary vice-president, Franco Baresi, has spoken to the microphones of QS and said the following words:
"No one forgets what Milan did last year, winning the Scudetto. But when you win, the responsibilities increase and you have to give something extra, everyone takes steps to beat you. We're all surprised by the 18 points we get separate from the first. Now we have to be good at not being destabilized by criticism, united for a single goal, because we represent a club and a glorious shirt. The first thought must be the team: reminding each other why and how we won. When things go wrong, you have to show your qualities of availability and altruism. In the squad there are players with important experiences and young people who are aware of playing for Milan."
On the World Cup, Baresi said:
"We weren't used to having this break. Preparation has changed so we suffer. We know that this isn't the real Milan, it's conditioned by a few too many injuries. We'll come out of it by staying united. Ibra? We know who Zlatan is and wherever he was, he won. He came back and provided a great contribution last season. The years go by for everyone, I don't know what he will be able to give but he is a figure who transmits confidence and personality. Last year, the fans saw a team that excited them: they fell in love with this. Now it's the Champions League, we're in the round of 16, it's a great opportunity. There will be an incredible atmosphere and Milan are able to play it all the way with Tottenham."
On the new stadium project:
"San Siro has been my home for 20 years, but we have to look ahead... A new own modern stadium is important because it brings many advantages, earnings and revenues. In the rest of Europe, they are ahead."
