Stefano Pioli's aspirations for further triumphs were revealed by Il Corriere della Sera in this morning's print edition, which also conveyed the words of the Rossoneri coach spoken during the event when he won the Panchina d'Oro award yesterday
The Italian coach, aside from reminiscing the Scudetto conquest with great emotion, expressed his desire to win again with AC Milan: "This Panchina d'oro award is a source of gratification because it's earned. Winning another one would be great, but we need to start winning again to achieve it."
It seems unlikely to happen in the current season since Napoli is already too far ahead in Serie A, while the Champions League features a host of teams that are stronger than the Rossoneri team. Therefore, the aim is to secure a top-four finish to qualify for next year's top-tier European competition: "We have savoured the beauty of playing in the Champions League, and we want to experience it again next year. There are two ways to make it happen: either we win the Champions League or finish in the top four. The season is still long, and we have a lot to do. We aspire to win every game from now on and maintain our place in the Champions League. It's a gorgeous and exciting competition", stated Pioli, as relayed by Milan News.
