AC Milan are looking to reinforce the attacking department that is available currently for head coach Stefano Pioli, according to the latest rumours, and they should make some moves in view of the summer transfer window in order to be ready for the next season.
In fact, as reported by Pianeta Milan today, the Rossoneri may be keen on the opportunities that are available in the free market agency. One potential target is reportedly Roberto Firmino of Liverpool.
The Brazilian, who is a former teammate of AC Milan's current striker Divock Origi, can become a free agent at the end of the current season, as his contract at Anfield is set to expire. There are, indeed, speculations that Firmino is unlikely to renew his deal with the the Premier League outfit. Therefore, the 31-year-old will be free to negotiate with any other clubs that is interesting in securing his services for next season.
While AC Milan directors Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara could enter the race for the former Hoffenheim player, Serie A rivals, Inter, may also consider him as an option if they fail to secure Lukaku on a permanent transfer.
Firmino has amassed 9 goals and 4 assists in 26 appearances this season.
