AC Milan's head coach, Stefano Pioli, saw his team lose 2-1 at the Artemio Franchi stadium against Fiorentina who are coached by Vincenzo Italiano.

The Rossoneri's boss, had these words to say after the game to the microphones of Sky Sport Italia

"We prepared for the game as if it were very important. Fiorentina did better than us in the first half in terms of quality and energy, we won few duels. We interpreted the second half better, but the first half penalized our performance. Fiorentina played better than us, but not because we were thinking about Tottenham. Absolutely not. We had to do better in many things, but we couldn't. It was a stop that we didn't want, but we couldn't repeat the performance of last Sunday against Atalanta."

The Rossoneri coach then continued:

"With Tottenham, it will be a different game, it's do or die. Tonight's performance won't count, we will be two teams playing at the best of our abilities. Surely Milan will be ready for the next match against Tottenham. Astori? Of course, for me, this is always a special game, especially today, which fell on the date of what happened five years ago. I greeted Bruno, Davide's brother. He knows how beautiful Davide was."

Finally, Pioli concluded:

"It's strange not to be able to win some more away games. We definitely have to do better because we have the qualities to do so. We ran a lot, but we didn't run well. This didn't allow us to get to the second balls first and it penalized us, especially in the first half. De Ketelaere? He did some good things, but when the maneuver is not so continuous, even for the attackers, it becomes difficult to find space for plays and insertions. Tonight, the whole team could have done more from that point of view, especially in the first half. The London lineup? More or less, I already know it. We'll see, there are 2-3 situations to analyze well."
