As reported in La Gazzetta dello Sport, the technical director of AC Milan, Paolo Maldini, will be part of the UEFA Football Board, the new European football body. There will be a total of 20 members including coaches, such as former AC Milan coaches Ancelotti and Capello, and former champions, who will be asked to make their knowledge and culture available to football.
Approved last Tuesday by the UEFA Executive, the Board will be led by another former Milan player, Zvonimir Boban, and Roberto Rosetti, head of UEFA referees. The Board will propose "draft laws," which will be carefully listened to by the main body of European football, which will then, when possible, turn them into reality through the Executive.
The Board will meet at least once a year, but additional meetings may be called to address urgent matters. The first meeting will be held on April 24th in Nyon, where they will discuss, among other things, handball fouls and added time.
