Yacine Adli, the talented midfielder who is 22 years old, joined AC Milan for a transfer fee around 10 million euros from Girondins de Bordeaux. Despite his potential, Adli has only amassed a paltry 114 minutes in the league so far, having featured in just four matches against Verona, Napoli, Sassuolo, and Bologna.

AC Milan's head coach Stefano Pioli has been hesitant to use Yacine Adli as anything other than an attacking midfielder, overlooking him for more defensive or central midfield roles in favor of starters like Brahim Diaz and backup Charles De Ketelaere. Instead, Stefano Pioli has opted to adapt Rade Krunic or Ismael Bennacer to fill the void. These decisions are not exactly a ringing endorsement of Yacine Adli's ability to grasp the Emilian coach's tactical concepts.

Despite Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara attempting to shield Adli from scrutiny this season, they have been forced to face the reality that their investment has yet to yield any real returns. Maldini and Massara expressed their confidence in Adli during last January's transfer market, but the situation remains unchanged.

In light of this, it seems that the only viable option for the young midfielder is to head out on loan in search of more playing time. While this would allow Adli to regain his form and confidence, it raises questions about Milan's ability to recover or profit from their investment in the current climate. The situation surrounding Adli is a complex one, but it is clear that his time in Milan thus far has not been all that was hoped for.
