Italian journalist who works for La Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper , Luca Bianchin, has spoken to Milannews.it about the contract renewal of Rafael Leao with AC Milan.
Here are his words about the current situation:
"A complicated situation. Massara said it's 50/50 with a certain optimism because there is growing optimism. Being optimistic is possible because Milan is, but there are problems that still need to be resolved... I think, however, we will have to wait until at least April 18, the return match with Napoli; nothing will move before then, neither for Leao nor for Diaz. Then in the last 15 days of April, I don't expect a decision, but an appointment: we'll understand something about both Leao and Diaz."
What do you know about the news regarding Leao's fine?
"I'm not aware of the decision that Lille will pay the entire compensation. Sporting, through O Jogo, has made it clear that they want 45 million euros, which was the original price requested for Leao, not just the 16 million euros provided for in the fine. Something is clearly happening and the clubs are talking, but I wouldn't speculate that everything is resolved with the fine. AC Milan never wanted to pay that amount, and as Massara said, they're a bit of a spectator."
