AC Milan's head coach, Stefano Pioli, spoke to the media after the draw 1-1 against AS Roma. Here are his words:
On his mood:
"It's like my player's mood. Not completely satisfied, not happy. We wanted to win, we controlled the game, but we were not very dangerous. Credit to Roma, who at home concede very little. It's not easy to create chances, and when we had the chance, we were not precise. Many fouls, it was difficult to maintain intensity."
What was lacking?
"The speed of the ball and precision in the passes and runs."
On whether they suffered from memories of Lazio-Milan at the Olimpico and what to expect from the upcoming games:
"It was impossible to do worse than last time. We didn't think about the past. We needed more clarity, more precision, and less frenzy. Roma has conceded few goals, so we couldn't come here and expect to score many goals. We will play often now, but I am confident. This is a decisive period, and we need to do more."
On the difficulties on the left flank, Pioli said:
"It's normal that opponents know how we play. There's less space there. Rafael Leao did not make many runs behind the defense and instead asked for the ball at his feet. When they close us down on one side, we need to switch to the other side. We insisted too much on one side and were not good at switching the play."
