Thanks to the results obtained in the last day of the Serie A, Monza has reached the mathematical certainty of not being relegated. This is an important result considering that the team had a rough start to the season and was a newly promoted team.
Beyond this historic milestone, however, the practical meaning of the salvation achieved by Raffaele Palladino's team is that the club will have to redeem Matteo Pessina from Atalanta.
A year ago, in fact, at the time of the negotiation, Monza had agreed on a mandatory redemption from Atalanta if they had achieved salvation. The Milan team will also benefit from this situation, based on an agreement reached in 2017, when Matteo Pessina moved from the Rossoneri to the Atalanta team.
As reported by SportMediaset, the AC Milan team will receive a share ranging from 30% to 50% on the capital gain of the future resale. In practical terms, the club will receive a sum ranging from 3.5 to 7.5 million euros.
