As anticipation swells surrounding the potential contract extension of Rafael Leao with the AC Milan club, Lille and Sporting Lisbon have taken to the negotiating table to hammer out an agreement regarding the famous fine that must be paid.
Nevertheless, the Portuguese publication Record has explained that Leao and his entourage have taken a further step, submitting a fresh appeal to the highest court of law in Portugal, the Supreme Court, in a bid to quash the verdict of the TAD, the country's sporting tribunal.
The TAD had previously decreed that Leao was bound to pay €16.5 million, in addition to interest, to his former club Sporting Lisbon as compensation.
