As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper in this morning's print edition, AC Milan want to reach the white smoke regarding the contract renewal of Rafael Leao before playing the Champions League semi-final derby against Inter. Negotiations between the player's entourage and the club's management are well underway.
As already reported, the Portuguese outfit Sporting Lisbon are asking for 22 million euros in their legal dispute with Lille and the player. The French club, for their part, are already working on the matter and they are close to reaching a solution, as per the source.
Giorgio Furlani and Paolo Maldini from AC Milan are also working to close the matter quickly. There is cautious optimism. Leao's contract renewal is awaited as it would bring a great boost to the club, players, fans and even to the market.
