It is still uncertain whether AC Milan will play in the Champions League competition next season, but what seems certain is that there will be a lot of activity around Casa Milan this summer, with the Rossoneri management having to work on a market that is very different from last year's. From strikers to free transfer opportunities, here are the names currently on the club's watch-list.
As reported by Corriere dello Sport this morning, it is crucial for AC Milan to secure the signing of a striker who can score 20-25 goals per season. Such a profile has been missing for too long, since the first Rossoneri Ibrahimovic to be precise. Next year, Giroud will certainly be there, but at over 37 years old, he will no longer be able to sustain the frantic pace he has had to maintain in this season, while Zlatan has yet to decide on his own future.
There are no certainties yet about Origi, but if the right offer comes, both he and Rebic could leave. In all of this, Milan is looking around. Roberto Firmino has been offered to Milan, as well as many other clubs. The Brazilian forward is leaving Liverpool at the end of the season: he is 31 years old with extensive international experience. Another name that remains alive is Alvaro Morata: the Atletico Madrid striker is experienced and familiar with Italian football, and his contract expires in 2024, which would allow for a not too high economic expenditure.
Meanwhile, AC Milan seems to be one of the front-runners to sign Japanese versatile midfielder Daichi Kamada, who will be a free agent after leaving Eintracht Frankfurt, with whom he played a leading role in winning the last edition of the Europa League. The 26-year-old Japanese player would be an interesting and versatile profile for the Rossoneri midfield, which will be without Ismael Bennacer for quite some time. Maldini and Massara are evaluating the operation, but they cannot think too much about it, as Napoli has also been interested in the player for some time.
The pursuit of Loftus-Cheek for the midfield (and also the attacking midfield) remains hot. He is leaving Chelsea. For the left-back position, the most likely names as Theo's backup are Mazzocchi and Parisi, while Saint Maximin could come back into fashion as an attacking winger.
