AC Milan must do some serious overhauling in the transfer market in the coming summer in order to be more competitive in the league.
As reported this morning by Tuttosport, among the hottest names currently linked to AC Milan, there is Marko Arnautovic of Bologna. The Austrian who is 34 years old still has two years left on his contract with Bologna. But, he could arrive at AC Milan as an alternative to the French striker Olivier Giroud. AC Milan would still need a younger striker to build the present and future attack of the team. Thiago Motta, the coach of Bologna, has effectively opened the door to Arnautovic's departure, stating, "If there are offers for Arnautovic from a team aiming for Europe or playing there, it is right for him to leave."
AC Milan is actively pursuing Arnautovic and may soon present an initial offer to the Emilian club. However, Arnautovic cannot be the only attacking signing, and therefore, the club's executives are also keeping an eye on other targets. In particular, AC Milan is focused on Ligue 1, which is always a well-monitored market for the team. For example, players like Lois Openda, Hugo Ekitike, and Folarin Balogun who is on loan from Arsenal play in that league.
