After Marco Sportiello and Daichi Kamada, (the latter operation that should be finalized at the beginning of next week) AC Milan are reportedly working to quickly secure its third market move: the Rossoneri are indeed launching an assault on Ruben Loftus-Cheek, a midfielder departing from Chelsea, who is at the top of the Paolo Maldini's list to reinforce the midfield in Pioli's team.
Tuttosport reported this morning that the English player's contract expires in 2024, and he is no longer part of Chelsea's plans, which means they cannot demand astronomical figures. The initial asking price from the English club was 20 million euros, but Milan is working to obtain a slight discount and close the deal at 15 million euros plus bonuses. Contacts between the parties are ongoing, and in England, they believe that the agreement between the two clubs is getting closer and closer.
The Rossoneri have now overcome the competition, including the Italian club Lazio. Coach Maurizio Sarri, who previously coached Loftus-Cheek during his time at Chelsea, had considered him to reinforce Lazio's midfield. However, unless there are sensational twists, Milan should come out on top and aim to complete their third summer market move by the end of June.
His salary doesn’t fit in the AC Milan budget structure. I am highly skeptical of this rumor. Unless there are reduced wage demands, I don’t see this happening. They weren’t going to pay Kessie that kind of money, so why would they pay RLC more.
Milan will definitely not be willing to pay him the same salary he earns at Chelsea. If he wants to come to Milan, he’ll have to reduce it significantly.
