As reported this morning by La Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper, a suitable option for the right flank reinorcement at AC Milan could be Brahim Diaz, who however is on loan from Real Madrid, which expires at the end of this season. There are still many details indeed to clarify on this point. The Rossoneri club, after three years on loan, wants to secure his services exclusively and will make an attempt starting from next week, but the Spaniards could put up a barrier: with Asensio's departure, Diaz could be the right replacement to strengthen Real Madrid's squad.
AC Milan, for their part, may need to dip into their wallet for around 20-22 million euros, or even more to keep the Spaniard permanently. The crucial phase of negotiations could begin in the coming days. Meanwhile, the player, who would like to stay, awaits clarity about his future.
If Brahim were to return to his home base and therefore couldn't be considered as a solution on the right flank alongside Saelemaekers or Messias for the next season, AC Milan could decide to fall back on an old target: Domenico Berardi. The Sassuolo winger, as mentioned by La Gazzetta dello Sport, has become a certainty in the Serie A: reaching double figures in goals has become a habit for him, and he might be ready for the big leap he has never taken.
The problems would arise from the transfer fee, which is around 30 million euros, and the fact that he is no longer a very young player. Therefore, it is also worth considering players whose contracts expire this season or next season for the right flank: in this sense, hot names could be Reiss Nelson (contract expires in 2023) or Ismaila Sarr from Watford (contract expires in 2024).
